ALCOHOL. The very drink we take lightly, yet intake so heavily. We drink to celebrate. We drink to heal. Sometimes for no reason, we drink. Yet we often forget the ramifications it has on us and our loved ones. We become dependent. Overpowered. We rely solely on a glass of potent concoction to give us an illusion of what happiness is to us. To diverge our current state or to make us forget what we’re feeling. Without it, we no longer know what it’s like to feel. We don’t know what it’s like to be happy without a glass in our hands. We’re lost and numb. Not just with ourselves but to those who love and care for you. I wish it for no one, I wish you could come back.
Note to self. When you really matter to someone, they’ll always make time for you. No lies, no excuses.
"A few times in my life I’ve had moments of absolute clarity, when for a few brief seconds the silence drowns out the noise and I can feel rather than think, and things seem so sharp. And the world seems so fresh as though it had all just come into existence. I can never make these moments last. I cling to them, but like everything, they fade. I have lived my life on these moments. They pull me back to the present, and I realize that everything is exactly the way it was meant to be.” - A Single Man
